The Hare And The Lion
A lion used to kill animal of the jungle for fun. The animals were very scared of him. Tired of living under the constant that of the lion. They all went up to him and promised to send one of them daily for his meals if he stopped killing them for fun.
One day it was the turns of a hare to go to the lion's den. The hare was clever. He made a plan to kill the wicked lion.He went to the lion's den very late. The lion was very angry. " Why have you came so late?" the lion roared. Politely the hare explained, "My Lord, I was chased by another lion but i managed to escape."
"There is another lion in the jungle?" asked the surprised lion."Yes and i know where he lives.Come with me and I will show him to you." said the hare.
The angry lion got ready to go with hare. The hare took lion at a well and said, "My Lord! he lived there,please go and take a look inside." The looked into the well and saw his own reflection.He mistook his won reflection for another lion.
He roared angrily at his reflection He saw that the lion in the water roaring back at him. Unable to control his temper. He jumped into the well to kill the lion inside and drowned. Thus the hare saved his life and thereafter all the animals lived peacefully in the jungle.
MORAL : Wisdom can win might.
